Chester Lane Case Study: Groundworks for 243 Homes in Leeds

Overview of the Chester Lane Project

The Chester Lane project in Leeds involved comprehensive groundworks for a new residential development comprising 243 homes. This initiative included various essential tasks such as ground stabilization, bulk earthworks, and the installation of extensive sewer systems.

Our team’s expertise was pivotal in successfully navigating the complexities of the site, ensuring that all parameters were met efficiently and effectively.

Ground Stabilization and Bulk Earthworks

One of the vital components of the project was ground stabilization. This process ensures the stability and durability of the soil for the foundations. Our team delivered significant bulk earthworks, which consisted of careful excavation and backfilling, preparing the site to support construction activities. With these steps in place, the risk of settlement and instability in the future was notably minimized.

Sewer Installation and Drainage Systems

The project also required the installation of 12 kilometers of sewers and associated drainage systems, featuring 337 manholes positioned at depths of up to 10 meters. This extensive network was designed to manage water efficiently, thus preventing flooding and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

The addition of 1700m3 of geo-cellular storage further enhanced the drainage capabilities of the development, providing long-term sustainability and environmental protection.

In conclusion, the Chester Lane case study exemplifies our commitment to delivering high-quality groundwork solutions tailored to complex residential projects. Our work not only supports the immediate needs of the development but also prioritizes the long-term performance and safety of the infrastructure.
